Right or wrong
America is dealing with a big problem about illegal aliens. America is trying different tactics to decrease the number of illegal aliens in America. Obviously none of them are working to good. The border patrol can't stop them all from coming over to America. There is way to many illegal aliens in America. Arizona's Governor, Jan Brewer signed a bill (1070). Which allows police to question people about their immigration status, including asking for identification if they suspect someone is in the country illegally. Obama has called the new law "misguided" and instructed the justice department to examine it to see if it's legal according to the website. This raised a big concern for many people living in Arizona and some other people as well. It sparked fear for many U.S. citizens that they will be hassled by police because they might look a little Mexican. This could be racial profiling. I wouldn't want police officer stopping me on the street asking for my identification for no parent reason. Their were as many as 3,500 protesters at the State capital. Some say this goes against our freedom and privacy. According to the Fargo Forum that Arizona is the nation's busiest gateway for human and drug smuggling from Mexico. It is estimated that their are 460,000 illegal immigrants. The violence created by illegal immigrants is a big issue to the people of Arizona. The law also says that police officers are going to have training which will include what does and does not constitute reasonable suspicion. If they do find a illegal immigrant they will turn them over to the federal immigrant officers. If caught they can be thrown in prison and fined up to 2,500 dollars. Our country could use any money they can get. That is a lot of people that are taking over American jobs. Since they will work for little or nothing. Some big companies strive off illegal immigrants. They don't have to pay them mini um wage. They can pay them much, much lower, like a dollar or two a hour. They don't have to give them benefits. It's not fair illegal immigrants don't have to pay taxes. Many of them are drug dealers. They don't have health insurance. I think this law will help the problem out some but not fix it completely. Do you think this law is unfair? Do you think this law should help full?

I think if the illegal immigrants want to work at an office job for 5 dollars an hour then let him/her. American is greedy and people need to know that having a degree and loving your job and not slacking when you walk in the door is important. Everyone is venerable in there career so working hard is what keeps your job. So this law could be helpful.
ReplyDeleteWhile I do believe that illegal immigration into the U.S. is a problem, I don't know if this law is truly a solution. This is the case since many people, who may be new to the country and legal, could easily end up harassed over this law. I believe that illegal immigrants often receive the raw end of the deal. Yes, they don't pay taxes. However, they often also do not make minimum wage, are looked upon with suspicion, and do not receive the benefits of American citizens. I wonder if making citizenship simpler could be a legitimate solution to illegal immigration.
ReplyDeleteI think illegal immigrants are becoming more and more of a problem.I dont think the law is the solution but it might keep some of them from trying to get here. And i agree with TLK maybe giving them citizen ship is the right answer but wiht the citizenship they should have to learn english. Yes this is the land of the free and we do have the rights but learn english its the least you can do to live in our country.
ReplyDeleteI recently lived in Arizona for about 8 months and was able to see first-hand how out of control the illegal immigrant problem is down there. I think it is wrong, but I have an uncle down there who owns a restaurant that made the comment that these illegal workers are way better workers than the American people are and since this new law came about he has had to get rid of a lot of best, hardworking employees.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree that there is a problem with illegal aliens living in this country. They take away from many taxed citizens and their compensation. Knowing that this law has been passed I am not sure it was the correct action, but it is a step in the right direction. Honestly, how hard is it to carry a drivers license or state ID? I do think people are making it a bigger issue than it really needs to be. I know that going over to Holland and England we had to carry our passports at all times incase we were asked to show identification otherwise we could be taken to be investigated on why were in their country. The new law seems very similar to that same rule, so I do not see the big problem since other countries do it then why can't we. If Arizona is forced to relinquish this law I do not think this will be the last of the measures taken.

Yes this is the land of the free and we do have the rights but learn English its the least you can do to live in our country.
